Granite quality control starts before production. An inspector can only apply criteria that have been written clearly enough to measure or compare.
Confirm identity and reference samples
Record the approved trade name, code, source information and representative range. Keep signed or photographed control samples available to the factory and inspector.
Measure the product
Define sampling rules and tolerances for length, width, thickness, squareness, flatness, holes and edge work. Select tests appropriate to the product and project.
Review appearance and finish
Compare color range, veining, patches, repairs and surface texture against agreed limits. Inspect under stable lighting and document the method.
Check packing and records
Confirm labels, quantities, crate construction, moisture protection and loading plan. Use dated photographs and inspection reports so deviations can be discussed before shipment.
